My username folder has an apostrophe in it (i.e. Irish names like O’Neill/O’Malley etc).
The presence of the apostrophe (') in my Windows user profile path causes internal errors within Cursor, specifically visible in the Cursor Developer Tools console. This leads to instability and prevents certain features from working correctly.
e.g.
[Extension Host] SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier ‘Neill’
at compileSourceTextModule (node:internal/modules/esm/utils:340:16)
at ModuleLoader.moduleStrategy (node:internal/modules/esm/translators:168:18)
… (stack trace continues)

Add an apostrophe to the username folder

Yes. I can’t use MCP servers currently which is pretty major functionality! I also can’t install any normal VS Code extensions
