Extra line break is added after auto-complete

Ever since 0.34.1 (last couple days), when Cursor is auto-completing, it’s adding an extra line break about 2 lines after the line I’m editing. This happens every time.

Here I’m letting it auto complete, and then you can see it adds a line break a couple lines down.

Sorry about this.

We’re working on a fix right now.

This bug seems to be back in Cursor 0.45.9. The new Cursor Tab (Fusion?) model does exactly the same thing, adding an extra blank line just below the completion.

Sometimes the cursor prediction feature will even catch this and suggest that I jump to that blank line so I can delete it.

Since Cursor is normally so slick, this extra line insertion glitch is surprisingly annoying…really messes up my flow.

This thread is in the “Discussions” board, but should be in bugs so it will maybe get someone’s attention.

Hey, very sorry of this, would you be able to share a screenshot or a request Id? To get a request id for Cursor Tab, you can go to the outputs tab and select “Cursor Tab” from the dropdown eg

This is the cursor tab output I get, one where it generated an extra line break

From a clear terminal:

  • clicked above the line I knew it would suggest a change for
  • → suggestion appeared on line below cursor
  • hit tab to autocomplete
  • → suggestion applied, extra newline generated
