Extremely long response times for AI models

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

For at least 4 hours, AI models have been responding with very long response times: about 5 minutes (sometimes even longer). The message “Taking longer than expected…” is displayed. I set the network to http/1.1, but it didn’t work. I restarted Cursor, but that didn’t work either. Network diagnostics indicate that everything is functioning properly. Are there any problems? It’s impossible to work with response times like that.

Steps to Reproduce

Questioning AI models

Expected Behavior

That the models respond within an acceptable time frame and that we can work.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, I just posted a detailed reply in your other thread: Cursor version 2.5.22 is unusable.

Quick summary: the logs show a bloated local DB (about 5,8 GB) and a SQLite lock contention issue that’s eating CPU and memory. That’s very likely causing the slow AI responses you’re seeing too.

Fix: close Cursor, go to %APPDATA%\Cursor\User\globalStorage, delete state.vscdb (and any nearby .backup or .corrupted files), then restart.

Let’s continue in the original thread so we don’t split the context. Post there and let me know how it went.
