Feedback on Cursor After the Latest Update

Hi,

Since the latest update, I’ve noticed significant issues with the functionality of Cursor. The chat is no longer working as effectively as before, and all generated code contains numerous errors. The tool forgets important details, fails to account for existing files, and sometimes even ignores newly added files.

This behavior seems to have started after the Composer update. While I understand that Composer is primarily designed for creating new files rather than expanding existing ones, something has definitely changed, and the workflow has become far less efficient. It now takes me four times as long to generate usable code.

Key issues I’ve observed:

  • The tool makes more assumptions and modifies code without context.
  • It often introduces irrelevant or inaccurate content.
  • It frequently forgets to incorporate older code into new updates, leading to incomplete implementations.

I’d like to know if I’m missing something or if there’s a way to mitigate these issues, as the experience has drastically changed and hindered productivity.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I am experiencing similar issues after updating to version 0.43, just as @Voskesss described.

It seems the ‘temperature’ parameter of the Chat API has increased. The models are now more prone to hallucinations, which significantly hinders the generation of usable code through Chat.

I have been a power user of Cursor for over a year, contracting and using 1.5k fast completions per month. I am confident that the parameters of the Chat API have changed and, for my use case, worsened.
