Request for a refund for annual subscription that I purchased yesterday Nov 14th

Hi,

I tried to develop some simple project earlier on cursor and it worked and I was all happy and bought the pro version annual subscription to get fast requests yesterday Nov 14th 2024. Today, when I tried to actually start another slightly complicated project, I am struggling to use cursor as the code suggestions it is giving are totally off or it gets stuck in kind of an infinite loop of the same alternate suggestions and goes nowhere. Example was for styling related errors. Tailwind and nativewind css.

Also, cursor keeps creating new files outside the actual project folder which leads to many errors and is pretty annoying and this is something I have observed with my other small project as well and needs to be fixed. Also, when you detach the cursor chat window the chat text window stops working, which means that the user cannot enter any new prompt. I tried reattaching to the side pane and it still wouldn’t work and then I had to completely close cursor and then reopen again. and it happened multiple times. Honestly between all these issues, and mainly the typescript and alternate suggestions loop for Debug with AI that wasn’t working, I just gave up.

Can you please refund the money back since it has been under 24 hours since I purchased the annual subscription ? I would like to see cursor improve before I purchase pro again as I feel like I jumped the gun here by purchasing the annual subscription, as it seems like cursor is just not there yet. Hopefully you folks fix the issues as it is a serious roadblock to productivity.

My email is bharath2286@gmail.com. Looking forward to a full refund.

Thanks,
Bharath

Hi Bharath! I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Cursor Pro. I understand your frustration, especially running into these issues right after subscribing.

I’ve processed your refund - you should have received a confirmation email, and it’ll appear in your account within 5-10 business days.

We’re actively working on improving the composer’s reliability. Quick question - which AI model were you using? Also, for the chat window issue, did it completely stop working for both chat and composer when detached?

For Tailwind-related issues, using cursorrules to guide the styling suggestions can help avoid those suggestion loops you encountered.

Really appreciate your detailed feedback. Hope you’ll consider giving us another shot once we’ve addressed these issues!

Hi Eric,

Sounds good. Thanks. Sonnet 3.5. Just the chat prompt and not the composer (haven’t tried it out). This was specifically the case when using it for quick fixes (AI debug fix).

For tailwind, I was definitely using the cursor rules by using below but didnt help.

  • Use styled-components or Tailwind CSS for component styling.

Actually, I feel the cursor rules causes more issues than solve, the one thing I am observing is that sonnet 3.5 when prompted directly, is giving better bug free code than what sonnet via cursor is providing. Hopefully you folks can look into fixing this.

Wishing you folks the best!

Hi @ericzakariasson,
