Finding file takes long time

keep this wait status for a long time.
i really hope cursor can solve this.

Hi @singalish_boy and welcome to Cursor Forum.

I moved your comment into a separate bug report so we can have a look at what is happening here.

find as a CLI command works directly on your OS.

Some more details are needed to narrow down the cause

  • Please post your Cursor version, OS & version
  • Does this issue repeat also on new chats?
  • Are there there any processes that create a high load on your drive?
  • Is that folder where you search very large?
  • Is the drive perhaps < 10% free space?
  • Any file protection features (OS, antivirus) that may slow down file searches?

Hey, it seems the issue is related to the terminal freezing. I believe this issue appears to have been fixed in version 1.3, which will be released soon.

hi @singalish_boy

Thank you for the details, there is a new version released 1.3.3 . Could you check on which version you are on by clicking Cursor and About Cursor, then post it here please.

Also you can then click “Check for Updates…” to get the latest update.

01-I am already using the latest development version.

02-We can see from the beginning that more than one post reflects issues: either the AI gets stuck, or it fails to retrieve results, or it consumes a lot of tokens.

My current summary is actually:

Because the model keeps failing to retrieve the command execution results, it only proceeds after clicking “skip.” That means it cannot be fully automated.

However, sometimes even skipping doesn’t work. I’ve observed that in such cases, Cursor will continue to rerun and write additional scripts for verification, thus indeed consuming more tokens.

03-I am truly very sorry, but I’m trying to be as objective as possible and have no intention of offending you at all. Indeed, the current experience of Cursor is somewhat inferior to VSCode’s, and I really hope Cursor can improve.

Thanks, I am not offended and its good to get clear feedback.

Yes we had an terminal issue and the team deployed in updates a fix.

Some users reported it fixed their issue. Lets see what we can do to fix yours.

  • Are those commands interactive?
  • Could you post a Request ID with privacy disabled so we can look into the details? Cursor – Welcome
  • Please post errors from Developer Tools Console (Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Go to Console tab)
  • Otherwise could you check the IDE Logs?

solved
this time really better!

plz close this issue.

same problem came again.

@singalish_boy thank you for letting us know. As we do not have access to your computer, could you please use the instructions above and provide us with detailed information requested from the top down?

Without clear and specific information on those points it is difficult to reproduce an issue or understand what may be causing it.

I would sincerely appreciate your help on this so we can resolve it.

Please update Cursor to 1.3.8 as it contains several improvements for performance.

01-i use 1.3.9 now

cursor can not receive the command output in mac arm64

02-ifonly have a mac book air, we can easyly get that result.

sorry for my offensive ans.

here are the instructons how i make cursor work normaly:
a. wait for cursor, when cursor did not process anything, he is waiting for the result of command

b. copy the result of last command

c. paste result to cursor, then send it to server

d. work as normal

No worries, I am trying to determine the cause of your issue and help you. Unfortunately I could not reproduce the issue on MacOS.

Could you please post the full Cursor version info? You should see all details when using About Cursor in menu.
