Folders no longer accessible with @ command, similar to files

Thanks for reporting a bug you have found in Cursor!
Please add the following info to help us diagnose your issue:

:white_check_mark: Check the forum to ensure the issue hasn’t been reported already
:lady_beetle: Provide a clear description of the bug -

  • Yesterday, before the new release, if we did @ in the chat, it would show folders, along with files, which was very useful. Today, folders are not showing in the same way, they are deep at the bottom of screen (needs scrolling, not immediately visible) and also, requires multiple clicks to get it it. Previous option was easy, visible and desirable.

:arrows_counterclockwise: Explain how to reproduce the bug (if known)
:camera: Attach screenshots or recordings (e.g., .jpg, .png, .mp4).
:computer: Tell us your operating system and your Cursor version (e.g., Windows, 0.x.x). Mac OS
:no_entry_sign: Tell us if the issue stops you from using Cursor. - No

Sorry to hear that.

Could you please try restarting cursor, then uploading some screenshots or recordings of what the issue looks like on your end?

Steps

  1. Type @ in chat, followed by a folder name e,g @src
  2. Yesterday, it would show both folders and files both and I could select /src folder and this will show as @src (as a folder) in chat.
  3. Now, as in screenshot, folder itself does not show up, hence, cannot be selected or added to the chat , in same way.
  4. This was super powerful as I could give the agent the specific folder, for it to check relevant files within the folder. e.g. grep within the folder or add version update to files in the folder and so on.
    Pl lmk, if this helps.
    Thx

@deanrie - Yes, had tried that too. But, same issue.

Also the same with me… For context this is useful when you want to ask it to create files in a specific folder, or you need to edit more than 1 file in a folder and you dont have select them all manually.

Same problem here… this bug started a couple weeks ago for me.

I tried:

  • reindexing
  • explicitly including the folder in .cursorignore

So, far other than drilling down in to the dialog with my mouse, the solution has been to share the path of the folder.

Also noticed this today. Only workaround I’ve found is to start with @ and then type “file” to select it from the dropdown menu - then you can @folders as before.

I have the issue as well

I’ve got the same issue too

I have this issue too - I can no longer @ a folder. The workaround I found is that I can just drag the folder I need from the left sidebar and drop it right into the composer, and it inserts it properly as if I had used @folder. So at least there is still a way to do it.

thanks dude, this actually helped me. its not working from the popup and its not working anywhere, this stuff actually saved me. thanks

you are most welcome man!

One thing that I do, and I think it is the easiest option for me, is to drag from the file explorer to the chat.

Also came here to report that it does not work. In fact, cursor does not see project folders other than .husky
