Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

im not using cursor’s paid subscription but it forces me to buy one even tho im not gonna utilize it just to have an ability of using my own model with my own provider

Cursor switchs to "Auto" instead of using the designated model - #17 by Colin im not sure why this topic been closed but its not resolved on latest release

Steps to Reproduce

download app image from website, authorize, add custom openai token, change url, add custom model, try using it in chat, u get “Free plans can only use Auto. Switch to Auto or upgrade plans to continue.”

u should state somewhere a bold statement about all models using cursor api as endpoint no matter whether u r using ur own model or not, all the code is passed thru ur servers and u r basically sniffing entire codebase
