I’ve been using Cursor AI, and I noticed that the free version is consistently fast and responsive, which provides a great experience. However, after upgrading to the Pro version, I was surprised to find myself having to wait for responses(after 500). This raises the question: What is the business logic behind this setup? Shouldn’t Pro users have the fastest and best experience? Would love to hear thoughts or insights from the community.
Hey, here is the official information about this:
And why are free users not put into the slow pool? This doesn’t answer the question why free users are prioritized over paying customers.
Not sure what is going on during free trial but for several users recently the free trial stopped working after about 50 requests even 150 are offered. Cursor has no reply so far.
The slow queue is a separate issue and not about free trial.
@777lent Just responded to you in a different thread, but in short, free users do not have access to fast requests and are not being prioritized over paid users.
@T1000 Also responded to you in a different thread. We had to implement a limit to 50 requests on the free trial to a small subset of users who we identified as being at higher risk of abusing the trial. While this, unfortunately, meant we had some free trial users who were limited, even though they were legitimate users, this was necessary for the service to remain uninterrupted for paying users.
