I have experienced repeated cases of Cursor freezing up.
The mouse will jump every 10 or 20 seconds, indicating
a tiny quantum of compute, but too small to guide the
mouse to a target. Restarting, refreshing, etc don’t help.
I traced it to Cursor\tools\inno_updater.exe
This seems to be the auto updater. Deleting it or renaming
it away solved all the problems… until something reinstalls
it (updating Cursor most likely). Then the freezups recurred,
although apparently not right away. Maybe it works ok until
the first a new update was needed. Just a guess.
This looks similar to many previous posts.
Latest iteration of this for me was 4/7/25.
The file is back in place at this writing 4/21/25
but hasn’t caused a freeze up yet.
On Windows 11 Pro, updated.
