Inno_updater stopped working

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

are you guys ever going to fix this? every single time cursor updates on windows it puts up the ‘inno_updater.exe’ stopped working box and i have to click close program. It doesn’t seem to hurt anything but it’s odd that it has been going on this long without being fixed. Just happened again going to 1.6 from 1.5 and has been happening since 0.4 or so

Steps to Reproduce

Use auto update in cursor itself (click restart to update)
it closes the program, then this box comes up with inno updater stopped working, then cursor opens again like normal

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 1.6.14 (user setup)

Additional Information

using auto update from cursor itself, doesn’t do it with running update manually or using winget

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Doesn’t matter the model.

Additional Information

I’ve tried disabling antivirus protection but the same happens.
