I find 2 model of gemini-2.5, one is gemini-2.5-pro, another is gemini-2.5-pro-preview-06-05, i am little of confused about this, who know which is lastest, which is better?
Gemini 2.5 Pro (GA) is the latest and better choice. The “gemini-2.5-pro-preview-06-05” was a testing version released in early June 2025, while “gemini-2.5-pro” is the stable, production-ready version released on June 17, 2025. Google took all the improvements from the 06-05 preview (like better coding, enhanced reasoning, and creative writing) and rolled them into the GA version. The preview version is now deprecated and will eventually be shut down, so you should use the regular “gemini-2.5-pro” - it’s the same quality but officially supported for production use.

in addition to reply above, gemini-2.5-pro always points to the latest version, only for a brief moment when new preview version is released, it will not point to it but thats usually just couple of days. you can lookup google ai docs for detailed information
