Gemini API Key and Cursor Pro

With a Cursor pro subscription, when adding my Google API key to use Gemini, I get the following popup

But if I turn off the API key as prompted, I no longer have access to the Gemini models. Is this a location thing (EU)? Or is there a way to access gemini with Cursor Pro?

you might be stuck doing “analogous configuration” like this but through the Cursor Settings - Models section to direct cursor to go to a named model on vertex

Hey @jturner116

You can keep using the API key. It’s just a reminder you have a subscription and you’re using the key instead of what’s included. Just hit dismiss.
