Github Copilot vs. Cursor

Hello,
I currently use Github Copilot a lot in VS Code and have now discovered Cursor.

I am wondering whether it makes sense to switch to Cursor? Or are the differences too minor to warrant a switch? I currently use Copilot Pro, which is sufficient for my needs, but with Cursor I would have to pay twice as much.

tbh, with the new pricing you’re gonna have to pay a lot more than twice, especially if you’re using claude sonnet 4. the limit runs out really quick with the new pricing. other features like getting the agent to create PRs in the background are also going to cost extra with cursor.

with that said, the editor is generally better and faster. i think codebase indexing helps a lot too. cursor is a more premium product i’d say, not the best tool if you’re looking to save money.

If you’re more into the vibe coding than actual coding, just use VS Code you’ll get more request

If you want the best autocomplete experience, and act AI just for assistance go with Cursor
