Grok 3 and Grok 3 Mini now available

We’ve added Grok 3 and Grok 3 Mini to Cursor!

Both models support Agent mode:

  • Grok 3: Premium model
  • Grok 3 Mini: Currently free for all users (will announce pricing changes beforehand)

To enable them, go to Cursor Settings → Models.

Give them a try and let us know what you think!

What is the size of their context?

i have grok api key ,can i add it to cursor? im a free cursor account

The official API’s context size is documented at the second link in the OP.

BTW, mark it in history - Grok 3 Mini is officially Cursor’s first and currently only free agent-mode model! Thanks Cursor team. :flexed_biceps:

But which reasoning is used…?

Outstanding ! thank you …

Hey, I think you can do this, but you need to override the base URL from OpenAI.

Seems they already added Agent support for DeepSeek V3 before the Grok API release.

By the way, I noticed that Grok 3 Mini is listed under the premium category. Does it consume premium requests since it’s under the premium list? However, it’s free under the cost category. It’s a bit confusing.

yeah good point! it’s a good model but it’s free

Thanks a lot! What about their thinking? Are they the base models or can we also use thinking?

I’m sure this is a dumb question…but here goes…

My understanding is that pricing is based on API calls to the LLM. So, If I have an LLM API which I’ve already paid for, I should be able to load that API in Cursor to be able to leverage a sunk cost vice pay double…correct?

For example, I have the Grok3 API. I should be able to load it and then use that as my model…or am I missing something (likely).

Thanks.

You guys rock. Been waiting for this for some time since they released it. Super thanks.

not working .

Agent and Edit rely on custom models that cannot be billed to an API key. Please use a Pro or Business subscription and/or disable API keys. Ask should still work.

I don’t see them in the Models config?

Make sure you’re on the latest version of Cursor!

At least officially they actually reduced deepseek-v3’s agent support even further. Then again, the newer 0324 version isn’t even listed there yet.

@ericzakariasson?

same here, I’m not seeing the model even though I’m using the latest version of the cursor

Hey, it’s possible that your API key is enabled, and the models didn’t load. In any case, you can try adding these models manually, and they should work.

Grok-3-Beta really rocks.
So far the only model that has taken my rules seriously.
