Hey @vibeprompter, thanks for the report and the screenshot!
There are two separate things going on here.
On iPhone: those connector cards (the interactive previews that tools like Atlassian can show in chat) aren’t supported yet in the iOS app version that’s currently on the App Store. That’s why it asks you to update even though you’re already on the latest version. Support for these cards is already built and will come in an upcoming update for the iOS app. This is a known issue and I’ve added your report to it.
On Mac: the card should show the Jira issue, so a blank card isn’t expected.
To help narrow it down, could you try this and tell me what you see?
Open Grok Bot on your Mac and open the chat with the blank Atlassian card.
Wait about 30 seconds and check whether anything appears inside the card.
Open Settings, go to Appearance, and set Theme to Light.
Go back to the chat and look at the card again.
Switch to a different chat, then open the original chat again.
Ask your Bot to look up a different Jira issue and watch the new card.
Does the card stay blank at every step, or does content show up after step 3 or step 5? Also, does it happen for every Jira issue or only some (for example, issues with a long description or lots of comments)?
In the meantime, you can ask your Bot to also write out the issue details as a regular message, so you get the information in chat even when the card is blank.
Theme switch didn’t work. I asked for another issue with the card multiple times, but it just gave me a regular table instead (maybe it’s behind a feature flag and disabled now, idk). I’ll wait for the iOS update and recheck desktop and mobile.
Quick question though, does the Grok desktop app have logs for debugging? I can check if it’s a network or permission issue
Hey @vibeprompter, thanks for digging into this, and glad the iPhone side is working after the update!
You’re right that the desktop card isn’t loading properly. We’re now seeing the same blank Jira and Confluence cards in the desktop app for other users too. This is a known issue the team is tracking, and I’ve added your report and your iframe finding to it.
On logs: you can open the developer tools in the desktop app with Cmd+Option+I (looks like you already found them). If you see any errors in the Console tab when the blank card loads, could you copy the text and paste it here? That will help confirm what the card is tripping over.
One quick check on iPhone: does the Jira card actually show the issue details there now, or does it just no longer show the “update” message?
In the meantime, the Bot’s written reply under the card isn’t affected, so you can ask it to include the issue details in its message.
