Update: Same symptoms when trying to talk to Larry from Omarchy (Linux desktop) — Failed to send / missing replies, while iPhone still shows Larry working. So this is not Mac-only; both desktop environments fail for Larry, iPhone works. (Note: Linux desktop isn’t officially supported for Grok Bot, but the parallel failure may still help narrow desktop vs iOS sync.)
Same pattern on Linux Grok Bot 0.43.0 (Mint 22.3), not Mac-only.
One Bot (Overlord / a copy of it) fails on desktop: sends sit in Failed to send / accepted-awaiting-echo, replies never show. iPhone has the full thread. Other Bots on the same desktop work.
It works until that Bot posts a secret-request widget, then the desktop tail dies. Copying the Bot copies the freeze. Reboot, cache wipe, 0.39.0 ↔ 0.43.0 don’t help.
Launch log every time:
node-agent-coordinator: server transcript tail pinned 7994c850-a510-4e12-9d06-e10971b8f3a3
node-agent-coordinator: agents roster seed skipped: SandGatewayMalformedReplyError: gateway listAgents reply is malformed: 0: pushMessageContent: message: message: secretRequest: target: required field
Looks like the desktop client requires secretRequest.target and the gateway omits it, so that one conversation never hydrates. Mobile parser is fine.
Having to talk to it on iOS to see replies. Other bots work fine, but one specific one won’t show replies. You can see the reply in the preview pane on the left though. Just can’t see the whole reply.
Hey @StefanZ , Larry is fine and answering you (that’s why the phone shows the whole thread). The desktop app on 0.43.0 just can’t load that one conversation, which is why sends show “Failed to send” and the replies never appear. Nothing on your side, and Reset/reinstall won’t change it. Your chats and the bot’s computer are safe.
This is already addressed in the latest version. Update Grok Bot desktop to 0.44.0 (Settings → Updates; if it says you’re already up to date, fully quit with Cmd+Q and reopen), and Larry should load and send normally again. Keep using him on your phone in the meantime.
