Describe the Bug
Grok Bot (Cursor)
The only live cue that a bot is working is an icon animation, and that animation is only visible when the pointer is directly on that bot’s icon. There is no persistent, glanceable signal that a bot is working, close to finishing, or idle.
Actual Behavior: To know whether a bot is still running, I have to hover the icon or ask the bot for the result. Silence in chat is not “still working.”
Steps to Reproduce
- Ask a bot to run a multi-step job (leave the chat, or look at the sidebar without hovering).
- Watch the sidebar / chat header without putting the pointer on that bot’s icon.
- There is no persistent working / finishing / idle state.
- Move the pointer onto the icon: the animation is visible only then.
- To find out if the job is done, ask “what’s the result.”
Expected Behavior
A persistent, glanceable signal that a bot is working, close to finishing, or idle — visible without hovering the icon animation.
Operating System
Linux
Version Information
Unsure of the exact build on 15 Aug 2026. Last reported on this account: Cursor 3.15.6 (Grok Bot 0.16.0). Happy to fill the current build on post.
Additional Information
This is a missing status surface, not a bot-config issue. Chat pings are not a substitute (silence ≠ progress). Documented UI (sidebar, settings, per-agent info pane: computer preview + routines) has no working/finishing indicator.
Related live miss: I commissioned a job, asked for the result while it was still waiting, because I could not see busy vs done.
Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue
