Grok Bot Threads UI is unusable — needs a Slack-style right panel

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

Grok Bot’s Threads UI is unusable.

Today, threads hide behind a chip in the main chat. That makes the main conversation hard to follow and the thread hard to use.

To be functional, Threads needs to work more like Slack: keep the main convo clean, open the thread in a right-hand panel.

Early beta. Grok Bot chat.

Steps to Reproduce

Open a Grok Bot chat, send a threaded reply, try to follow both the main convo and the thread.

Expected Behavior

Threads should open in a right-hand side panel (Slack-style), keeping the main conversation clean and readable.

Operating System

MacOS

Thanks for the feedback @GrokUser841719! It’s still early days for Grok Bot, and it helps a lot to learn about how our users want to interact with their bots!

We are hearing a lot of similar feedback (internally as well), and I’ve added your report to the internal thread where we’re consolidating this feedback!

Hey @GrokUser841719, a quick update on this one!

Two things that should help.

First, Grok Bot now has channels! Hit the + in the sidebar and choose New channel to create a named space (say, one per project or topic) with the bots you want, so each stream of work stays focused instead of piling into one chat.

Second, on threads specifically: the team is actively iterating on a new thread view designed to keep the main conversation visible while you follow a thread. Keep an eye on upcoming releases!

UI definitely isn’t the easiest, I’ve found it helpful to duplicate the agent’s instance with a new chat and pass over the thread context to the new chat if it’s getting really long. It’s helpful when one of my threads is getting really longer or no longer necessary context for the main thread.
