Nope. Complete silence from grok, Elon, support, cursor.
They didn’t even tell us what the fix was or how it’s going to be going forward.

Same problem here, after weeks of optimizing things to run my company efficiently and upgrading my plan to legacy ultra plan - to get walled from usage spiking from 65%-100% in an hour, absolutely brutal to say the least. Glad I did not buy the full year subscription. Hoping that because it happened on the weekend that there will be updates tomorrow
It affected me too. Sat night, I was at about 27% usage, woke up at 55%. I’m at 71% using it lightly. Usually I use about 10%/day or less… seems the doubled the token cost, or reduced the included credit by half. The big problem was they retroactively billed users based on their usage before the change occurred and didn’t notify anyone. Some are reporting that their on-demand got hit as well.
Grokbot is the new FarmVille. You can only collect things on your farm when you have credits. If you need something urgently you are at the mercy of Elon and have to buy usage credits. Otherwise you wait patiently for a refresh.
yeah not an ethical way of trying to run a company lol
There is something seriously concerning about how this is unfolding.
First, build user dependency by offering generous usage limits and making Grok Bot an essential part of people’s daily workflows. Then, once users become dependent on it, suddenly change usage allowances or consumption rates, leaving them with no choice but to consider upgrading to more expensive plans.
It creates the impression of a deliberate strategy to turn user dependency into additional revenue.
I understand that AI infrastructure is expensive and businesses need to be profitable. But changing the economics after customers have built their workflows around a product, without clear communication, is a serious breach of customer trust.
Are we paying for a service, or are we gradually being pushed into paying more for the same experience we originally subscribed to?
If the usage limit is adjusted as Elon said , it’s fine ,but please provide a more transparent usage dashboard so we can make data-driven optimizations.
guys, its fixed now,.. my usage is back to normal
Yes, the issue appears to be fixed now. My usage has also returned to its normal level. Thanks for the update!
I also can confirm that within the past few minutes, for me the GrokBot usage has been fixed from 100% back down to what it was before this issue started.
Thx Grok Bot team great job , but could you clarify any usage limit changing? I’m still afraid it will happen again
My weekly usage suddenly dropped from 80% back to 40% today, November 2, without a weekly reset, plan change, or any action on my part.
This strongly suggests the meter was incorrectly displaying roughly double the actual usage.
It has indeed returned back to the usage we had before the spike…but cost per token is still double…so watch your usage burn VERY quickly.
I can confirm about usage per token likely be about double from before, my routine run from about 4%, now it was 8% and it is not finished yet
So Elon changed the usage hoping you wouldn’t notice then he got caught so he put it back but change the way usage is calculated by x2 it.
You’re fuked either way. Go Elon!
Having similar issues. One question reads a file, consumes 1% of of my weekly allowance. I run 1 report it consumes 5%
Resolved for me overnight 11/1-11/2
Update: it was fixed by morning.
It’s not fixed. You have half your tokens now. Enjoy paying the same for 50% less with no refund.
