Hight memory consumption on cloudcode_cli

Describe the Bug

Suddenly I found my Mac being very slow, in monitoring I found process called cloudcode_cli that gains 28gb ram of 16gb (how is it even possible?) also killing CPU.
Details of that process said that it’s part of cursor.
If I close Cursor - process is gone no high memory consumption but at the moment I reopen it memory start to increase really fast.

I’ve tried to delete Application Support + Cursor App and reinstall it again from scratch but problem still exists.
All my projects consume that much memory.

Please suggest something to resolve that issue.
Thanks

Steps to Reproduce

Probably just open your Cursor and watch for memory

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

i am facing the same issue, any one found a resolution, happens in cursor not in windsurf or claudecode on windows after the latest update.

I also notice this.

Just found out this issue was actually related with Google Gemini extension i had installed, after removing it this process stopped showing up

i got the same error i think is a virus, i delete all my pc files then i reinstalled windows then i installed windsurft then i installed this extension Open VSX Registry and then the cloudcode_cli proces come then i delte the extension then was gone i think it’s like a virus i delete forever.

The ideal would be to have the task manager and see the task and go deleting the extensions one by one and see if the process goes away.

Please always check and be careful with what you install and check that it is from a legitimate author and even they can have viruses, extensions that are not from VS Code that are forks of VS Code like the Windsurf cursor and more use a platform that although it does not promote viruses, it is easier than in the original VS Code itself.

I don’t have cursor installed, I use vscode, and I have the process, on linux(POP OS). The problem is coming from the gemini code extension.

Removing the Google Gemini extension is what helped me as well. Thank you!
