Honestly just Disappointed

I’m just dissapointed that Cursor is pushing everyone away from such a good model as Gemini.

Look i know you gotta make cash but dang. I am having to consider going outside Cursor to use the model.

I tried using Gemini 2.5 via Cursor’s implementation but it does not work in most modes for most requests.

I tried using Gemini 2.5 via OpenRouter in cursor and it worked a couple of hours maybe one day but now It is not working. I keep getting Unknown error inside cursor but Gemini Outside of Cursor works fine.

Where is the error coming from? Why Am i limited to only Sonnet 3.5 for agent and the other agents are mostly non functional most of the time.

i wouldn’t even mind just using the chat but have hit walls there as well.

maybe I’m just venting but this is frustrating.

And with the MCP implementation being down most of the day I feel like I have lost much time. Even though I appreciate the recent error output they added for MCP in 0.48.0 it seems like many MCP servers just don’t work.

I’ve spent days trying to configure certain ones.

Not to mention the Chat Tabs that you recently removed, Which I had really begun to LIKE!!

Well, i guess this is the price of early adoption.

FYI: I’m not trying to get anything for free. I’m paying $120 (maybe more) for this months usage & and typically pay no less than $60/per month.

Yes, I saw this post and rarely complain. In fact I often hype Cursor on twitter and I’m a huge fan but the past week has been a bit disappointing. I know what I am using is bleeding edge and I’m giving grace but it’s tough when everything is moving so fast.

Yes, I’m also a big fan, I brought several friends to sign with them to memsk from my community that has more than 3000 members and in our private group chat we always comment the same thing… But now this gemini nerf can’t go unnoticed we need to fight for them to listen to us

Yup, performance is terrible, very annoying that when I pay for a request it works fine…just makes me feel cringe.

They need a very good prompt engineer.
I’ve partially seen the prompt system, it’s not great.

All of this is counter productive to true professional work. Switching to a new system and having to learn again.

Cursor SHOULD COMMUNICATE WITH IT’S PAYING USERS.

I’ve not encountered any problems using 0.45.14 with 3.7, its true Cursor should have an LTS system in place but its also true we should use a version for production and a version to experiment with, to then come here by being specific about issues in new versions or features missing we would like to have.

Your dismissiveness of their lack of communication is a bad way to make an excuse for a company taking people’s money and not providing transparent & TIMELY communication.

People who give negative feedback ACTUALLY CARE about the product getting better.

Alternatively. Those who don’t care about the product will just switch to the competitors.

Seems we are in the same boat

IF YOU CARE FOR CURSOR PLEASE VOTE! Easy Roll Back - PLEASE VOTE!

A point well made. A user who provides feedback for improvement wants to use the product. Implementing this feedback will turn this user into loyal fan. As you said, those who don’t care silently switch to competitor products. I think the Cursor team just needs to address issues in a timely manner to keep users from panicking / getting upset. Many are trying to quickly build products and unresolved delays / bugs / issues from Cursor does not help create a satisfactory user experience.

I’m sure Cursor team is trying but with their funding, they should now consider upgrading their customer support. They could create a team of agents + humans for customer support to quickly address issues. Users don’t mind waiting if they are kept informed. But ignoring their requests is what will make them switch eventually. Users are not here to play with Cursor but to use it to build their startups / products / businesses and their time matters.

I believe they’re trying but their silence is deafening. Why not just have a rep put out a message on social media? Or acknowledge with a pinned post in the forums??

Hey,

There is currently a known bug on Google’s end that is causing errors when certain MCP servers are used. This is not a bug just affecting Cursor, but we have worked with Google to resolve this, and a fix should be out within 24hrs.

Besides this, we have no intention of pushing people away from Gemini 2.5 Pro! It’s showing to be a very capable model, and we want to embrace it inside Cursor!

What is it that you are seeing so far?

Regarding chat tabs, these haven’t been removed - just hit CMD+T to make a new tab (had a lot of feedback regarding CMD+N making a new Tab vs clearing the current one, hence the change in shortcut!)

Hi @danperks Cursor experience is horrific today…nothing is working (tool calls broken… completely ignoring instructions). Is there a status page where we can view the state of the system? … How do we tell when this google problem is solved?

@mattj they do have a status page looks like they recently added agent.

Ahhh nice one. I just had a response from support: “You’re right - there is currently a known bug on Google’s end affecting certain MCP servers that’s causing these issues with file operations and tool calls. This isn’t just affecting Cursor, but we’ve worked with Google on a fix that should be deployed within 24 hours.”

Ive asked about status page but was told that ill be notified to update my cursor version and thats when it will be fixed.

Good find on status page. Pity its all green and things are all broken

Hopefully back in action soon - getting an average but workable solution on Sonnet 3.5 right now… Dodging 3.7 seems to help for some reason but no solid data on that
