How can I open the chat on the right-hand side by default?

Ideally I would like to have the chat tab next to the explorer tab, search tab and so on.

If you right click on the Activity Bar, there are some options like:

  • Activity Bar Position:

    • Default
    • Top
    • Bottom
    • Hidden

  • Move Primary Sidebar Right (or Left)

It seems like if you move the Primary Side Bar to one side, then the Secondary Side Bar (which the Chat is in) moves to the other side, and vice versa.

So it doesn’t look like you can have the Activity Bar next to the Secondary Sidebar (which the Chat is in).

I could be wrong though, perhaps someone else might know the way to achieve your desired behaviour.
