Can't move chat to left sidebar after >= v0.46.0

I can’t move the AI chat to left sidebar after >= v0.46.0.

It’s awful not to able to control where I put the window and being forced to have it sit on the right side of my small laptop screen.

Hey, unfortunately, this doesn’t work in the latest version. However, I’ve already informed our developers about it. Let’s hope they bring back this feature.

Cannot move chat to left sidebar after Cursor update 0.46.4

After the new update, I’m stuck with using the Chat/Editor only on the right side of my screen and can’t attach it to the left sidebar at all. When I try to drag and drop chat onto the left sidebar, it just doesn’t do anything. How can I fix this? I hate having a panel on the left and the right open, it eats up my limited laptop screen space and I just want to move it to the left side where the rest of my panels open. Using MacOS, latest version. Cursor version 0.46.4

Cursor devs it’s been too long and we want to upgrade to the latest version. Please fix for our sanity!

We need this too. Working on laptops is a pain, often having both the AI pane and primary sidebar visible. It would be fantastic to have the AI pane reset into the primary (or secondary) side bar as an option.

FWIW @WeiyiTian if you can live with the primary side bar on the right, then set it as such (Workbench → Side Bar → Location → right) and the AI pane will move to the left. This is my current stance, but it reduces the usability of other tools (debugger, project outline, etc).
