What are the best editor settings for users who write a lot of code (I’m using Mac OS)?

I’m getting increasingly frustrated with my editing experience because Cursor keeps thinking my TABs are accepting suggestions when I’m just trying to TAB into an indent. Sometimes these suggestions aren’t even visible on the screen!! I don’t want to turn them off completely because they do save time.

I guess I need to re-map the TAB key to something else, and I’m curious what people have done to tame the beast.

Changing the keybinding for tab completion is a popular option. There’s also available keybindings for enable/disable/toggle Cursor Tab.

I agree with you, Cursor Tab used to be pretty good but it’s way too damn aggressive now.
