How do we disable subagents?

I’d like to prevent subagent spawning entirely as it eats up requests (I’m on the legacy plan) - how do I do this?

Hey, right now there isn’t a separate toggle in Settings to fully disable the built-in subagents. But there’s a working workaround. Add a User Rule: Cursor Settings > General > Rules for AI - add: Never use subagents. Do not launch any sub-agents for any task. This is what @jes and @99power suggested above, and it works.
