I’ve not only unchecked all non-custom models but deleted them and tried to validate my openrouter key but it still rejects it. In fact, I upgraded to 0.48.8 and it still doesn’t work. I think the test it is using to validate the key is wrong. Checking for ‘openrouter/quasar-alpha’ will give the best results since it’s free. Should also note that, yes, I have enabled logging and model training on the openrouter website.

try restarting cursor and making a new chat, i hope that will help.

No, at the moment it’s broken. If you previously added your API key, it will work, but if you’re doing it now, it won’t work. We are already working on a solution to this problem.

I see you updated the curl test message but it’s still wrong. My API works when tested using the openrouter code:

It is asking for pro/business subscription to use my open router models

It’s not the open router model issue, Just switch to “ask” mode, “agent“ mode is only for pro users.

Hello! I can’t use the API key from OpenRouter.

  • I enable HTTP/1.1

  • I uncheck all models included in the Pro plan

  • I enable “Override OpenAI” and set it to https://api.openai.com/v1

  • I enter the key and click “Verify”

  • After one second, the “Verify” button resets as if I never clicked it.

The settings are not applied, and the API connection doesn’t work.

I’m located in Russia. I’ve tried both with and without a VPN, and restarted Cursor every time before a new attempt.
