Hey, currently the commit message generation feature doesn’t use your ‘Rules for AI’, but I’ve raised this with the team and we may be able to add this in a future update.

Similarly to “Rules for AI,” my requirements may vary from project to project, and this is the case here as well.

In the “User Rules” i added a little sentence saying to put the commits in English and it works well:
Always respond in Francais. Write commit message in English

yep, +1 too, overall features should be consistent across all cursor IDE parts.
Language can be specified
Currently, support for different languages for commit messages has been added, but how can the language of the commit message be changed individually? For example, I want all other replies to be in Chinese, but the commit needs to be in English.
