How to change VS Code version in Cursor?

Is there a way to change the version of VS Code that Cursor is using?

I’m currently on Cursor v0.48.9, which is tied to VSCode v1.96.2, but the remote desktop at my workplace only accepts VSCode v1.98.x or newer for SSH connections. Any version below that causes the connection to fail.

Would love to know if there’s a setting or config to upgrade the embedded VS Code version inside Cursor, or if there’s a workaround to get SSH working with a specific version.

Unfortunately, you can’t. They will ship the new version at some point. In the meantime, you can use the “remote tunnel” with their CLI.
