I’m looking for a way to have both the File Explorer and the Cursor Chat in the same sidebar (the Primary Sidebar).
My goal:
I’d like the Cursor Chat to behave like any other tool in the Primary Sidebar activity bar, alongside the File Explorer and other extensions. That way, I can switch between them in the same physical space without the editor layout constantly shifting when a separate sidebar opens.
What I’ve tried:
I tried right-clicking the Chat tab and selecting “Move To” → “Primary Side Bar”, but it didn’t work. The Chat stayed in the secondary side bar.
Is there any reliable way to achieve this?

I noticed that issue #731 on GitHub (‘Allow moving Chat between panels’) was closed, but the problem persists for many of us. Using ‘Move to Primary Side Bar’ currently has no effect in version 2.2.36. Is this feature officially deprecated or is it a bug in the new layout system?
