How to run Cursor in two different screens

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to run Cursor on two different screens/monitors at the same time. Ideally, I’d like to have one instance of Cursor open on one screen and another on a second screen so I can work more efficiently.

Is this currently possible, or is there a recommended workflow to achieve something similar? From what I’ve investigated, this feature isn’t fully supported yet. Some people open two separate instances of Cursor, one per screen, but this feels inefficient and sometimes causes crashes.

For me, proper multi-screen support is key. Without it, I’ll sadly have to consider switching over to Windsurf or IntelliJ.

Is there any official update on whether this feature is planned?

Thanks in advance!

hi @Alejoss and welcome to Cursor Forum.

You can achieve this with Agent Window (separate window) and IDE view with chat. It gives you two screens focused on Agents. However the issue are not windows but possible overlaps between Agents actions. We are already working on features that would improve handling.
