Multiple monitors with cursor

When I was using VS Code, I frequently utilized floating tabs on my second and third monitors because duplicating the workspace wasn’t as ideal. I’ve noticed that in Cursor, there aren’t any floating tabs, but I can still use duplicate workspaces.

I’m curious—how do you all manage this? Do you use duplicate workspaces as well? Also, does this affect the results when working with chat?

I’ve been using the “Move into new Window” feature for files. So I have a few windows across my monitors. Unfortunately its still very janky because:

  • The cursor chat remains in the “main” window
  • The terminal remains in the “main” window
  • Any new file is automatically opened in the “main” window and needs to be dragged into another window/monitor

If anyone has any tips to make cursor work on multi-monitors, I’m all ears. Having multiple workspaces open is a really bad solution to this.

It used to work until yesterday. One could find a way to move a window to another screen and then drag the tabs there. Now it doesn’t. This for me killed Cursor.

Hey, could you please let me know which version of Cursor you’re using and which OS you have?

So, last week I could drag a tab out and it would work perfectly on another screen. Thats all I need.

EDIT: UPDATED CURSOR, REBOOTED AND NOW IT WORKS AGAIN. THANKS FOR THE KIND ATTENTION.
