Suddenly the Chat went to the right - I was forced to Editor inside Cursor IDE.
When trying CMD+E nothing happend - received a message to use Cursor Agents if I want the Agent view.
Cursor Agents (Glass) is fine nothing wrong - but I cannot use it for production ready code until:
we have Agent review there - I like from the IDE the Agent review where you can see and accept changes iteratively one by one - the extra layer on top of GIT changes - I even have workspaces with multiple repos in it
themes - I tried everything in Cursor Agents but simply I work a lot and my eyes hurt - the contrast is too much - I have a very strict theme on VSCode / Cursor IDE which I use with smaller contrast
Please, force us into Glass only when we have these 2 ready - if we have them I am quite exicted to switch to it.
Steps to Reproduce
Open Cursor IDE - try switch to Agent view.
Expected Behavior
Have Cursor IDE agent view until the above to points are introduced inside Cursor Agents
Yes eactly - now instead of working I have to uninstall Cursor find an older version and hope it works.
Somehow if people need to be forced into using Glass - I think it makes sense that it is still lacking some core details. For me they are:
VSCode Theme support - really important - I literally have issues with my eyes - I tried it now to use it for 10 minutes and the contrast is very strong to me - I need the color scheme which I got used to for ages
Agent review - I really tried it now - good job - now there is some kind of Agent review - still not figured out how can I accept changes one by one and itterate - the direction is right - but the IDE Agent review still was more powerful - I could have open files - see the changes in each one - accept them one by one - iterate etc
The short version: this has already been rolled back. A recent update shifted some IDE users off the Agent layout onto the Editor layout (chat on the right, Cmd+E toggle off) - exactly what you saw - and we’ve reverted that change.
To get your setup back, fully quit Cursor (Cmd+Q) and reopen. Cmd+E and your previous Agent layout should return - no need to uninstall or hunt down an older version. If a restart alone doesn’t do it, updating to the latest version will.
Your two Glass points are both fair:
Iterative per-hunk review - opening each file and accepting changes one by one (including across multi-repo workspaces). There’s a review view in the Agents Window now, but it’s not yet at parity with the IDE flow.
Theme/contrast - carrying over your lower-contrast IDE theme.
@Luisa if your layout shifted too, a restart should put it back.
Let me know if it doesn’t come back after restarting!
Also my feedback still makes sense - let’s hope we see those 2 implemented into Glass - and especially before removing Agent Mode from IDE - in case you guys plan to
@Mihai_Cracan Can you provide the version number you have that works now? I have 3.11.19 installed on my work Macbook and it’s presenting this problem. My updates are controlled by an IT department, so having a version number to provide them would be super helpful.
It is the same version - I did not update it for the issue to be fixed. Maybe the guys from Cursor control this via some server side settings from their side I guess, maybe @mohitjain can confirm.
But if you go to Cursor Settings > General > Layout section → do you see there first setting to be Window Layout? It can be changed between Agent/Editor from there too, without CMD+E
On my end I actually reinstalled Cursor but not sure if that helped - or the settings rollback from Cursor.
