I built my first app, a digital photo app

Originally, I wanted to build an event aggregator to answer the question of “what should we do today” and discovered that it would be nice to record the experiences of what we did. That’s where the idea to have a timeline of experiences with photos and videos came from.

This is the first app I built (technically the second because the first iteration was a to-do list app). I’m not a coder but I have technical exposure. I used Claude to create the specs and Cursor to do all the coding. The stack includes React Native, Supabase, Cloudflare. All the things that I thought would be hard to build weren’t as hard as I expected: authentication, integrating data sources, managing photos and videos, push notifications, realtime messaging. This second iteration took me a month to build out the core product and I’ve just been adding features and fixing edge cases since.

It’s live in Apple App Store and Google Play Store if anyone is interested in checking it out.

The app is called Listo: Experiences and Connections. Here’s a screenshot of the trips that I put into my photo album. The avatar is my niece’s corgi, Oscar.
