I have increased my budge limit but Cursor still refursed for fast response

Instead, Cursor is asking me to double my budge limit for fast response.

We all know Cursor is supporting models which are mostly not supporting reasoning, so there will be lots of coversation (tokens) for communication.

Is Cursor keeping the rounds of communications longer, so user can quickly run out of like $20 per month limit and then Cursor is able to charge for double monthly fee? Why does Cursor force me to set double of my custom limit?

We all know with the DeepSeek, the token price is low in other model providers.

If Cursor keeps doing business like this, soon or later , another IDE with bettern token allowance will take over the market. It can happen very soon. Let’s see when other AI IDE providers would realize this before Cursor.

If you don’t think you’ll use much more than 500 requests, but still want access to fast requests, then usage-based pricing is a great option. Will likely end up a lot cheaper for you.

Regarding reasoning, o3-mini now only costs 1/3 of a premium request or 1 cent for usage-based pricing (Update: o3-mini pricing). Cursor also supports R1 and gemini-2.0-flash-thinking-exp.

So plenty of reasoning models to choose from
