I'm moving on from Cursor

I used to really appreciate Cursor as my IDE and made the switch from other available IDEs over a year ago. It’s incredibly disappointing to see the direction the IDE is taking now, especially with the introduction of the new pricing, which seems like a completely nonsensical way to handle old customers.

Paying for multiple pro accounts is now considered better than paying for extra usage limits, which can easily rack up to $20 or more in a few hours. It’s just not feasible anymore and doesn’t provide the value it once did.

Moreover, the pay-per-usage pricing model is very frustrating. Often, the agents struggle in loops and bloated contexts, forcing users to pay between $0.05 to $0.10 per request depending on the context.

I’ve created this account specifically to express my disappointment, as I’ve noticed many other users feeling the same way about the pricing changes. It’s simply not beneficial for the average user anymore and that whole Pricing megathread or even “announcing” the pricing system was not helpful at all, neither was alongside with the community feeling

I hope that the Cursor team listens to the community and makes some meaningful changes, for now I’m moving on to another IDE until I feel Cursor turn back to be the reason we moved on really solid IDEs

Hi, as we have had a lot of posts regarding our recent Pricing changes, we are asking people to post there to help keep the forum clear for bug reports and discussions on Cursor’s usage.

Feel free to post your comments there - both myself and others in the team are checking back there regularly:
