Describe the Bug

Problem: If I copy and paste an image in chat field, it’s not showing the thumbnail. But when I submit the message, it’ll show it. If I click the “Upload image” icon to upload, it doesn’t show the thumbnail either. On that note, tapping the X to delete the thumbnail doesn’t always work.

Steps to Reproduce

Grab any image and copy and paste it into the chat or upload an image.

Expected Behavior

Show a thumbnail no matter how many times you upload one.

Hey, thanks for the report! I can’t reproduce this on my end with the same version (2.0.43).

Could you try the following steps:

  • Fully restart Cursor
  • Try in a fresh chat window
  • Check if any system accessibility tools or clipboard managers are running that might interfere

If it persists, please share:

  • A screen recording showing the issue
  • Any errors in Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console when you paste/upload an image

This will help us understand what might be specific to your setup.
