Improve DeepSeek Agent Mode — Cursor Falling Behind Due to Token Limit

Hi team,

Tools like [Axxxment] and [Cxxxx code] are currently ahead of Cursor — not because they’re smarter, but because they offer higher token limits, thanks to their more generous pricing tiers.

Cursor, on the other hand, is limited by its token cap. But if you raise the base pricing to match competitors, many users may simply switch tools.

Right now, accessing the original DeepSeek API already requires a Pro subscription — and I think that’s exactly the right approach. It means Cursor can earn from the Pro tier, while still giving users access to the 128k token limit that DeepSeek supports — which is also cost-effective.

What matters now is:
Can Cursor fully support Agent Mode through this official DeepSeek API?
If yes, then this could massively improve capability without breaking the business model.

This might be the key for Cursor to stay competitive in the long run.

Let’s hope this can be implemented.

Whats Axxxment and Cxxxx code?
