Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
When selecting text within the code editor, the cursor’s visual position is incorrect relative to the actual selection.
You can see in the screenshot, I’m selecting NameSearchScope while the visual indicator position is incorrect.
Steps to Reproduce
Unfortunately, I am currently unable to provide reliable steps to reproduce this issue.
Expected Behavior
The cursor and the text selection highlight should accurately reflect the selected text range and the cursor’s final position.

hi @ma9834hakis and thank you for the bug report.
I have tried reproducing the issue so we can send it to our engineers, but have not been able to do so as the selection is working.
Could you provide more information so we can reproduce it or narrow down the scope:
- Does this only occur on some file types?
- Does the file size play a role? (number of lines)
- Is the issue improved when you restart Cursor?
- Is the memory or CPU consumption high when this happens?
Thank you for your response.
File Type Dependence: No
File Size (Line Count) Dependence: No
Improvement Upon Restart: Yes
High Resource Consumption (CPU/Memory): No
The issue has completely ceased to occur since I set the MacBook Pro display resolution to its default setting.
The problem appears to be reproducible (though not consistently) when the following two conditions are met:
- The MacBook Pro is running a non-default display resolution.
- It is connected to an external monitor. (In my case, DELL with 1920 * 1080 resolution, which is default for the monitor)
The issue is often triggered by moving the cursor between the MacBook Pro display and the external monitor (i.e., switching active displays).
