Install MCP outside project folder?

Can I install the Browser-Use MCP (and other servers like the Github one) in my main home folder outside the project I want to use it with? Or does it have to be installed inside the project folder? I would like to install servers once and have access to them in all my projects. Currently having issues getting Browser-Use MCP to run outside the project folder directory.

Also, is it possible to use Clines MCP marketplace to quickly install servers in Cursor, rather than doing it manually?

You can create a global mcp server mcp.json that can be shared with all your projects. Though, sometimes project mcp servers work better but that can depend on the MCP server itself.

They have usually instructions for Cursor how to configure them as well.

Not sure how you expect Cline MCP marketplace to install MCP servers for Cursor. (im not using Cline, but you can check there if it can install globally MCP servers)
