This was a great feature
@codebase & chat tabs. They’re moving towards a more targeted rules model and trying to figure out their pay model. Lot’s changing really fast.
Hey, which chat tabs are you referring to? They do exist, but we’ve changed the shortcut for creating them to Cmd/Ctrl + T
instead of Cmd/Ctrl + N
.
Oh! Thanks I just tried the new shortcut and the tabs work. My mistake. Thanks.
You might check Anthropic Status, I know over last weekend they were having problems.
from other posts, I see that even though @codebase is not there @codebase apparently is the default (when no target is listed). One suggestion would be to keep @codebase and then just list it as the default to avoid any confusion.
I am seeing that even though it is stated that it should look at the codebase by default, it does not seem to do that as I get responses now stating that it cant find code that is clearly in my codebase. Please put the @codebase back in as it was very helpful for now the user needs to infuse which specific file to look at which kind of defeats the purpose of project wide rag.
Could you share what you are asking it to do, perhaps the community can help. Doesnt have to be specific but how you are asking in the chat.
Im using Chat (Agent) a lot and never have to explain to AI which files to check. If i notice sometimes it didnt check all i tell it to search for other cases in the code and it uses various ways to check this and do the necessary changes.
I also ask Agent to check certain file just by filename, by partial filename or any part of code inside (class names or properties). it finds all files by keyword and I have seen improvements on the that part as well over last weeks.
There is sure a way to get it work for you.
I am having this problem as well. any update?
@codebase has been deprecated in favor of more targeted approaches. I believe it has to do with budgeting context windows of the models. Just have to be smarter and more precise about how you write code.
