Issue Updating Cursor to Version 0.49

Hi,

I’m trying to update Cursor to version 0.49, but I currently have version 0.48.9 installed. When I click on “Cursor: Attempt Update”, it doesn’t show the new version.

I also checked the downloads page on your website, and it still only shows version 0.48 available there.

In my Cursor settings, I have Beta Features set to Early Access, so I was expecting the update to be available.

Could you please let me know what I can do to get access to version 0.49?

Thank you very much for your help!

Maybe it’s a regional issue, sometimes my computer does this, if you want to download it you can also visit GitHub - oslook/cursor-ai-downloads: All Cursor AI's official download links for both the latest and older versions, making it easy for you to update, downgrade, and choose any version. 🚀

This has been happening to me for over a week, it will try and update to v49, then work ok for a little bit, then say there’s an update, when you restart you might get v46 or v48 which then takes a certain amount of time before it says there’s an update again.

What kind of computer are you on? You can delete all cursor data and try again, including user data. reinstallation

Hi again!

I’m using a MacBook Pro M4 Max.
Any clue on the path for deleting the user data? And what happens if I erase it?

Sorry, I didn’t express myself clearly, deleting user data means cursor users store local data configurations such as (global rules and settings data) and not logging out of the account, so you clean up the whole thing and reinstall, log in to your account and reset your rules and configurations on the line.

For windows, it’s usually in the user folder /Appdata/roaming/cursor

For Apple, you can ask the gemini.

Maybe it’s a residual from overriding the cursor installation

You will lose any customisations (extension configs/git log ins) and previous chats. There’s nothing wrong with the user data it’s Cursor’s buggy update procedure. I’ve updated manually this morning and I was working for 5 minutes and the “Update Cursor” message popped up again. I’ve no turned updates off completely.

You can download v49 manually here : https://cursor.uuid.site/
