Jupyter Notebooks in Cursor? Yes, Please!🙂

Hey amazing Cursor team!

First off, let me just say—what a fantastic job you’re doing with this editor! Seriously, I’ve been loving every moment coding with Cursor. But (and there’s always a “but,” right?), I’ve got a little suggestion that I think could take this already stellar editor to a whole new orbit.

Drumroll please… :drum:

How about adding support for Jupyter Notebooks directly inside Cursor?

I mean, think about it! One editor to rule them all! Data scientists, machine learning enthusiasts, and pretty much anyone who lives and breathes Python would be over the moon :full_moon:. Imagine being able to write code, run cells, visualize data, and document all in this sleek, modern interface you’ve crafted.

No more jumping between tools. No more context switching. Just one beautifully unified environment where we can get stuff done. :rocket:

Plus, you’d make a lot of nerdy data people (myself included :innocent:) very, very happy! So, what do you think? Jupyter + Cursor = dream team?

Looking forward to what’s next!

Much love,
Mario

Jupyter Notebooks already kinda work in cursor. For better support (such as being able to apply changes) make sure to also upvote this :point_right: Jupyter Notebook support

We’re working hard to get our data scientists into Cursor and this would go a long way into getting more in!

Yeah, when trying to apply in a chat recommendation it says come to the forum to encourage jupyter notebook support. Here I am! Our team is loving cursor, and notebook support would be a great update. Thanks for the power tool!

Curious, as I have not built a juptyr notebook yet…

What is the [not_cursor] tool of choice for data science folks like @tstang-instacart’s team may be using? Positron/Rstudio?

Do you have Positron/Rstudio in your daily workflow?

I like to have all my cursor docs as .rmd so I can fiddle with them in Positon/Rstudio - but also looking for a more seamless ux flow btwn the tools. (I think I just need more screens… hrmph

Also thirsty for this - Python Notebooks working with Composer would be huge for us.

The autocomplete already works great, for what it’s worth.
