I’ve been exploring ways to streamline the design-to-code workflow, and I think I’ve stumbled upon something potentially revolutionary. Since Cursor already supports the Figma extension, wouldn’t it be incredible if we could enable Cursor’s AI to directly access and interpret designs from it?
Here’s what I’m envisioning: You have your design open in the Figma extension, and with a simple prompt, Cursor could scan the selected design and automatically generate a pixel-perfect implementation. The AI would handle everything – precise spacing, exact color values, typography, responsive layouts – all without the tedious process of manual measurements and constant tab-switching between your design tools and code editor.
We don’t have anything to help around this right now, but it’s definitely an area we see people asking about, and we are always brainstorming good ways of getting your context into Cursor.
For now, I do believe there are some Figma extensions that can convert Figma designs into HTML or React, which you could then import into Cursor to work on, but a more native way of doing this would be interesting to have!
