Why is it that cursor stops suggesting code and constantly asks “Let me know if you want to do x”. It’s slowing things down to not have code suggestions and need 2 prompts to get things going.
Its not Cursor suggesting. Its the AI model that you selected and depending on the instructions you gave it.
Never answer such questions with “Yes”, check instead what in the previous step you could request better.
Sometimes the models get confused due to:
- Long context (too many files or too many chat steps, this fills up context and eventually some context has to be skipped)
- Not specific enough instructions (some models require precise prompt, e.g.
Adjust code to ....instead ofHow can this be fixed) - Conflicting instructions (some details may be contradicting and the model asks what to do)
Could you share what you tried to do? Could be an easy fix to adjust the prompt.
Hey, you can set it in the rules so the model never asks for your consent and just does what you want silently.
