Linear integration stopped working, no visible errors

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

We have a cursor-linear integration, it used to work wonderfully and then last week it just randomly stopped. if you try to assign cursor to an issue on linear it says “Waiting for cursor” and then after a few seconds “Cursor agent did not respond”.

Linear settings only have a link to cursor settings, can’t remove/add it there.
In cursor settings its enabled as it was before. also not much configuration there.

There are no other errors, and I don’t even know where to get the request ID since its inside linear and nothing happened on the cursor side so there’s no evidence of it doing anything in cloud agents or anything like that.

Linear shows cursor has access to all teams

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting github in my dashboard as well. nothing. This was my preferred way to work with cloud agents, through the editor does not meet my requirements.

Steps to Reproduce

Just assign cursor on linear and nothing happens

Expected Behavior

Cursor will launch a cloud agent, open a PR, and comment in linear

Hey, thanks for the report. Let’s quickly check and gather some data:

  1. In Cursor Dashboard cursor.com/settings:
  • Integrations: Is GitHub connected and has access to the needed repo? Is Linear active?
  • Features > Background Agents: Is Default repository set?
  1. In Linear:
  • If available, remove the Cursor integration (Settings → Integrations → Cursor) and reconnect it.
  1. Check cursor.com/agents:
  • Does the launch appear when you assign a task to Cursor in Linear? If yes, open the agent → menu → Copy Request ID and send the Request ID.
  • Also, try launching the same agent directly from Agents | Cursor - The AI Code Editor. If it works there, the issue is with the Linear integration; if it fails too, send the Request ID and a screenshot.
  1. Personal Configuration:
  • If you’re using a custom Dockerfile for Base Environment, switch to Default and retest.

Let me know the results - I’ll help fine-tune or escalate.

  1. github is connected. linear is active.
    2. in linear, it says “access to all teams”, but there is now way to change it from linear, clicking anything to do with cursor just sends you to cursor.com/settings.
    3. the launches from linear do not appear there.
