Linux Repositories

So a great pain point for many Devs is Linux installation and updating. I know there are auto-update scripts and stuff, but for something as crucial as my editor, which I use up to 8 hours a day, I just need it to work with my operating system OOTB.

I at some point read about plans for an APT-Repo, but how is the state on that?

We have auto-update scripts that download, check for downloads, add launch panel shortcuts, taskbar shortcuts, desktop shortcuts, folder handlers and can be extended with other features, written by Cursor for Cursor.

I am sure the team can do the same, make a shell script that does everything that is needed. Or just steal the ideas from this forum on the best scripts. I don’t know why it’s not a priority, but your requirements are too expensive. Of course, they did receive VC funds, unlike repo maintainers that would need to understand Cursor evolution and maintain and test official repos for different distros and flavors.
