Describe the Bug

Well.. what can I say? I lost all my chat history. All of them. I pay more than $600 a month for this slop-ass-sht and still, this sht doesnt deliver.

If you guys are building fcking SLOP then give me a discount too while you’re at it. A bunch of bots learning how to build a software while charging customers seemingly?

These bots working at cursor have successfully created a slopware with a dogsh1te reliability and now a f*ckass data integrity.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. I restarted cursor as it was frozen.
  2. My M1 Pro max has 64 gigs of ram, so dont start saying it was too slow. For some reason Cursor just couldnt load all my chats for this project, so I opted to restart.
  3. Lost all my previous chats.

Expected Behavior

To not lose all my fking chat history?

I mean Hello… Is this a Series-C software that can’t handle simple JSON storage? lmfaooo

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Hi @sl11,

Sorry about this. Chat history is stored locally on your machine, and when Cursor crashes or freezes before the session index is fully written, the sidebar can lose track of your conversations even though the data is still on disk.

Your chat transcripts are likely still saved here:

~/.cursor/projects/<your-workspace-path>/agent-transcripts/

Could you check that folder and let us know if you see .jsonl files in there? If the files are present, the conversations aren’t lost, just not being picked up by the sidebar.
