Make a sound when a sub-agent needs approval

Describe the request

I want to be alerted by a sound (and/or notification) when a subagent has stopped and waiting for my approval. Today, there’s only a sound when the sub-agent has finished.

  1. The “stopped for approval” sound should be different than the “finished” sound (minor)
  2. Consider making this configurable.

Hi @Shahar_Barak @stfnfrnk, I just wanted to follow up and be transparent that we aren’t able to pursue this change at this time. If you still feel strongly about it, feel free to let us know, and others can also weigh in as well (helps to gauge wider sentiment around the idea)

Why not? Isn’ t it just a small feature that can be vibed in one minute?

  1. Sound: Agent/subagent finished (FYI) must use a different sound than you need to click Allow / done / Take control. Today Cursor beeps constantly when background work completes and is silent when an approval, OAuth, or LastPass-style hold is actually blocking.

  2. UI: Anything that requires my action must stay open and visible on the main screen — not a card off to the side, not only Agents Window, not a beep with no surface. Queue + Auto-review + browser lock + OAuth currently hide; I had to force-send queued messages because I could not find Allow.

Why: Multitask with subagents makes “done” noise cheap and “your turn” easy to miss. The costly failure is a stuck queue with no obvious button.
