Problem: I am unable to get Cursor to connect to a stdio MCP server. I am able to successfully connect to this server via Claude Desktop and with the MCP debug/inspector utility.
I am using a MCP utility called emcee that works otherwise.
To reproduce:
- install emcee from the github page
brew install loopwork-ai/tap/emcee
- in Cursor, click: “+ Add new MCP server”
- give the server a name and change the type to “command”
- put in this command:
emcee https://api.weather.gov/openapi.json
- the server initially gives the error
No tools found
- after reloading it will show the error with the message about `Timeout waiting for EverythingProvider"
