MCP Servers: "Timeout waiting for EverythingProvider"

Problem: I am unable to get Cursor to connect to a stdio MCP server. I am able to successfully connect to this server via Claude Desktop and with the MCP debug/inspector utility.

I am using a MCP utility called emcee that works otherwise.

To reproduce:

  • install emcee from the github page
brew install loopwork-ai/tap/emcee
  • in Cursor, click: “+ Add new MCP server”
  • give the server a name and change the type to “command”
  • put in this command:
emcee https://api.weather.gov/openapi.json
  • the server initially gives the error No tools found
  • after reloading it will show the error with the message about `Timeout waiting for EverythingProvider"

Hey @ericzakariasson – just wanted to give you an update that I’m still not able to connect to my mcp server. Not seeing the “Timeout waiting for Everything Provider” - now just “No tools found”

thanks for reporting! shipping a bunch of fixes for this in 0.46

Hey @ericzakariasson ,

I’m not sure if @carlpeaslee’s issue has been resolved yet, as I’m still seeing the same error on Cursor running on ARM64 Windows, regardless of which MCP server I use. I’ve confirmed that this MCP server works on VSCode, Windsurf, and other environments. It also functions correctly on Cursor for macOS ARM, Windows x64, and Linux. The only setup where it fails is Cursor on ARM64 Windows — it does work fine on Cursor running ARM64 macOS (Darwin).
